South Australia's work health and safety laws are the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA) and the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2012 (SA), based on the national model laws and administered by SafeWork SA.
SafeWork SA places clear emphasis on SWMS for high risk construction work: the duty to prepare a SWMS before the work starts rests with the business whose workers carry out the work (or the self-employed person doing it), and the regulator publishes a self-assessment checklist that contractors can use to test their own SWMS.
