How WHS law works in Northern Territory
In the Northern Territory, work health and safety is governed by the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011 and its regulations, based on the national model laws and administered by NT WorkSafe.
Much NT work is done in remote or isolated locations. Managing the risks of remote or isolated work is a specific duty under the WHS Regulations, so emergency procedures, communication arrangements and first aid need to be written for the actual site — not copied from a city job.
